Peter Goldmark's Amber Waves Tour Travels Eastern Washington Peter Goldmark will begin an eight-day "Amber Waves" tour of Eastern Washington later this week, visiting 16 communities to meet with and listen to voters. Goldmark is a rancher, business owner and the Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress. Eastern Washington is familiar to Goldmark. He has owned and operated an 8,000-acre wheat and cattle ranch in the Okanogan for 33 years. "The harvest is over in most of the district. The 16-hour days are behind us, and now we have a chance to calculate our harvest and begin planning for the next planting," Goldmark says. The "Amber Waves" tour will stop in the following communities to meet with voters: Friday, August 25 - "Goldmark in the Park" - enjoy music and bring questions for Peter, 7-8 p.m. at Pavilion Park in Liberty Lake. A free movie follows in the park. Saturday, August 26 - Peter rides in the Colville parade beginning at 9 a.m. After the parade he will meet voters at Newport's Centennial Park from 1-2:30 p.m. Then he'll be back in Colville for an evening meeting at the West Picnic Shelter of Yep Kanum Park from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 27 - Peter visits with shoppers at Anderson's Grocery in Republic from 9:30 to 10 a.m. He then heads to Wauconda Hall in Wauconda for a "Meet the Candidate" coffee from 10:30 to noon. (Please note that the event is not sponsored by Wauconda Hall). Sunday afternoon Peter moves on to Tonasket where he will visit retirees from 2-3:30 p.m. The day closes with a 4-6 p.m. "Meet the Candidate" time at The Depot in Oroville. Monday, August 28 - Peter attends another "Meet the Candidate" event from 10-noon at the Courtyard, the former Penney's Building in Omak. The tour then moves to Wilbur for a free lunch buffet at Babe's from 2-4 p.m. The day concludes with a free supper buffet at the Senior Center in Davenport from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 29 - Peter hosts a "Critical Issues Forum" at the West Side Community Center in Spokane, 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 30 - The "Amber Waves" tour heads south as Peter visits with students at the Washington State University campus in Pullman, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. In the afternoon, Peter will join a rally at Rainey Park, 2-3:30 p.m. A press conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Democratic Headquarters in Pullman. He will close the day with a Town Hall meeting in Pullman at Neill Library at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 31 - Peter joins Asotin County voters in Clarkston at noon. The location will be announced. He will also make a brief stop in Starbuck at 5 p.m. Friday, September 1 - Peter visits with voters at the Democratic Booth at the SE Washington Fair in Walla Walla. Saturday, September 2 - Peter rides in the SE Washington Fair and Frontier Days parade, 9 a.m. After the parade, he meets with voters at Merchants Deli in Walla Walla. Then in the evening Peter shakes hands at the Ritzville Rodeo, 4-6 p.m. |
