Pro-Israel Politics in the 10th District
Date: Thursday, July 31, 7:00 p.m.
Location: Alcott Center—Room 10, 530 Bernard Drive, Buffalo Grove 60089
Instructor: Steve Sheffey, Pro-Israel and Democratic activist

Some say that no Congressional candidate can win in the 10th District if he or she is not perceived as pro-Israel. But what does it mean to be pro-Israel? In this Tenth Dems University sponsored event, Steve Sheffey will examine that question and why this issue is so important, with special focus on our Congressional and Presidential elections, with special focus on Barack Obama and Dan Seals. He will also explore pro-Israel institutions and the role pro-Israel politics plays in the 10th District.

Steve Sheffey has been active in both politics and the Jewish community. For seven years he served on the Board of Directors of CityPAC, a pro-Israel political action committee, including two years as its President. He has been active in the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the National Jewish Democratic Council, and various Jewish communal organizations. He ran as a delegate pledged to Tom Harkin in 1992 and has long been active in the Democratic Party. The views he will present in this class are solely his own and do not necessarily represent the views of any organizations with which he has been associated.

Tenth Dems University is the part of Tenth Dems devoted to educating voters and training volunteers and candidates. All of our sessions are open to all at no cost. Registration in advance is not required, but it is appreciated, since knowing in advance how many might attend is helpful. To register in advance, go to www.TenthDemsU.org.
