Hi all,

We had a good meeting. The subjects that came up were Education and Toxic Mortgages:

Did you know that even with the closures, some schools are still strapped for funds and the buildings have been neglected and many parts are in poor condition. What is important to remember: That outside new schools or popular schools, there are schools that are money starved, and the students do not get the up to date book and instead get peeling paint.

As for Real Estate, it surprised me to hear that toxic mortgages are still being offered in Western Washington. No, really. After all that has been written and billions poured into this black hole, it is still going on in our back yard.

Washington Public Campaign is moving forward and bills are scheduled to be debated. They have been working very hard and facing many obstacles, but still moving forward. I told you this would not be easy but I salute Washclean for staying with it and truly changing minds and votes.

So look around you own lives and think about what's important to you. I have schedule this extra meeting to give more people an opportunity to share their issues and actually make a difference for you and everyone. The more who join in, the more we can help each other and actually do something about the issues you care about.

It's the day after Valentines Day. We have gone through our first All Mail In Vote on February 3rd. What did you think about it? In this meeting, I want to ask you to bring your issues, your ideas, your concerns about Seattle Politics to this meeting - how is it working for you?

This group has not been very active all last year, but there is no reason we cannot have a voice in our community this year. This group is a central voice that can really move in many dirrections, focus on several issues and the more people we bring, the better we can help out causes we care about and widen the impact of this group in the 21st Century.
