Hi everybody,

I want to wish you a Merry Chr ... uh, Happy Holidays! :-O

As I mentioned in my last mailing, we weren't going to have our usual monthly
John Edwards meetup in December. However, I thought I'd send out a quick note.

1. YARD SIGNS etc.

This is an ideal time to work on visibility for John Edwards, with the Iowa
caucuses coming up and absentee ballots being send out shortly thereafter.
There is a big effort going on across the Bay Area to get signs showing for
Edwards starting this next week.

I have ordered a batch of YARD SIGNS from the campaign -- I also have a couple
of WINDOW SIGNS -- and it would warm my heart to see a bunch of them up as soon
as possible.

If you can display a yard sign, please REPLY TO ME and let me know -- let me
know your address too so I can deliver it early next week. (I've paid for
these out of pocket so if you can reimburse me $4 a sign, I'd appreciate it, but
I'm not going to worry about it if you don't.) :-)

I also have a big pile of BUMPER STICKERS -- let me know if you can use one as
well.

2. GIFT-GIVING

Usually every year, I get tons of gifts from people, so many I just don't know
what to do with them. OK, maybe not that many gifts. Anyhow, Lucy asked me a
couple of days ago "What do you want for Christmas" and my answer was ... to
send a donation to the Edwards campaign. Why? I want my country back (as
Howard Dean used to say), and Edwards is the only candidate that I think can
really do that. So instead of sending Christmas presents this year, why not
make a donation of any amount to the campaign. My pal Vicki (whom you might
have met at the Jerry McNerney party last year) has set up a special web page

3. NEWS & VIDEOS

I'm not surprised to learn that a new poll shows Edwards IN THE LEAD IN IOWA.
His campaign has been ON FIRE lately, and I think he has a very, very good shot
at winning Iowa (and by doing so, turn other states in his favor, as typically
happens). I think he's gaining traction because people are finally catching on
to his message about going up against the corporate special interests like the
oil companies, insurance companies, etc. ... rather than trying to somehow
negotiate with them under some fantasy that the big corporations will work in
the people's best interest. Edwards is the only candidate who is showing the
kind of COURAGE that we need to undo the disaster that the big corporations and
their Republican allies have inflicted on our country.

And, as usual, more and more polls are showing how Edwards is the ONLY Democrat
who can thoroughly TROUNCE ANY REPUBLICAN. When the pollsters ask voters across
the country how they would vote given a particular pair of candidates, Edwards
wins mightily -- nearly every state would be "blue" -- while Clinton or Obama
either just barely squeak by or even lose. We need a Democratic candidate who
will unite the country, not polarize it. Gory details here:
