As a 64 year old Democrat, I want to win this election more than any other because of the destruction that the Republicans have done and could still due in the future. In looking at the past three weeks of caucus and primary voting there is one thing that is noticeable. The number of voters for the Democrats has been wonderful in all four races so far and the most important fact in this occurance is that it seems that Barack Obama is bringing out the first time voters and those of the 18 to 30 year old bracket. Barack has lite a fire under this party and the numbers are showing it. It is obvious that this country wants a change in direction and it seems that Barack is the man to do it. As this election goes on, the Clinton campaign has not helped itself by attacking Sen. Obama with some racial comments and inuendos. The Republicans will do plenty of that in the general election. It would appear that the great speaking ability that Barack presents is of importance in the general election in that many independents and moderate Republicans have said that the senator has great appeal to themselves. The decision of the Republicans to nominate (as it looks now) John McCain as the 72 year old candidate of the party, it would be hard to sell the idea of change to the country with a man this old and set on war to continue on and on. When you vote in you primary election, just remember the word ELECTABILITY when the general election occures. We will win in '08.
