About Wake County Democratic Unity Meetup Group

Meetings are planned to be at the Cameron Village Library on the 2nd Thur of the month. If there is a conflict, the meeting will probably be on the preceding WED or at another location. But the meetup calendar will be updated with the current info.

Pay is lousy ($0) but satisfaction is huge and you will meet multitudes of wonderful people, and help ensure the integrity of the Democratic Platform! Help determine the direction of the local (and State) Democratic Party and get out the vote for Democrats in 2008.
Help organize locally to get out the Democratic Vote in 2008.
Meeting to take place @ 7pm at the Cameron Village Library in the upstairs meeting room. Some of the skills that are needed:
**Phone skills - will be spending time contacting Wake County Democrats.
**data management. Access and Excel folks needed to look at voter registration and participation trends for all precincts.
**Organizational skills - Wake has 189 precincts and hope to have over 80% organized before April 2008.
**communications/marketing skills - need to develop precinct packets with the right message and promote the
**volunteer management - need leaders to step up and see tasks through completion in their groups.

Effective GOTV efforts have active and engaged neighborhoods, and precincts are key to this. The important thing is not who anyone supports for President as long as they will work to GOTV for DEM candidates. It is very important for supporters of all the candidates to get actively involved with the party to help keep alive the issues their candidates stand for, this especially includes the candidates for the NC and local elections, for they have a huge impact on our communities and our daily lives and we can actually have a significant impact in many of these races.
