Meeting Description

Who

Anyone and everyone is welcome to join to watch the survivors in the Democratic primary heading into South Carolina, the last major firewall before Super Duper Tuesday. Come on out the third Monday of the month and cheer for your fav with more later

Why

We're about to go into high gear. Come out and get boozy for the debate, but not too boozy: We'll have information on where you can caucus and how to help run your caucus, 15 days before Colorado caucuses. The Denver Dems will be out in full force

Organized by

"We will be up front. I am talking with the owner of a nice neighborhood bar about hosting us for a debate party."
--Jay Hazen (Add a customized title)

Details

This event will be part social, part debate, and part info session so people can learn how to get things together for our Colorado Caucus on Feb. 5! Come find out where to caucus (if you don't know already) as well as how to help your Precinct Committee People organize (if you aren't one already!). And, if you want to register to vote in 2008 or become your neighborhood's Democratic officer (Precinct Committee Person), this is a great way to get started!

OK, so, we?ve cleared the location with the bar owner. The event will be at Senger?s On the Fax. Senger?s is on East Colfax on the Bluebird Strip (between University and Colorado). The street address is 3014 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206. You can check out Senger?s on the web at www.SengersOnTheFax.com

We will have the debate coverage on THREE large plasma-screen TVs with sound.

The specials will include:

$2.50 Fat Tires
$3 Grilled cheese with fries or tots
$3.50 Guinness and Stella Artois Drafts ($3 until 7:30)
$4 Captain and Cokes
$4 Jameson
$5 Absolut Cocktails (any flavor)

Until 7:30 pm:

$2 Bud Light drafts
$3 All Other drafts (including Guinness, Bass, Stella Artois, & other excellent beer)
$4 Well Cocktails
$4 House Wines
$5 Sengeritas (fresh-muddled Cuervo margaritas)

The field is winnowing, and South Carolina will be more important than ever. Come see what happens in this important debate, cheer for your candidate, and meet the members of the Denver Democratic Party committed to electing our nominee in 2008!

And remember not to get too boozy, because you can use this chance to step into a leadership role to help us with the caucus on Feb. 5 and with the general election this November! Also, we will find your precinct polling place if you don't already know it!

OK, everyone, thanks for the interest. We've been promoting this event with other groups, and now it looks like 35ish people is a reasonable guess for how many will show up -- but it could still be much more. Drinking Liberally is adding us to their community events email tomorrow, on a list with 800 people. I spoke with Senger's today, and they're looking forward to hosting us. See you out there!

I encourage everyone to pause a moment, reflect and remember Dr. Martin Luther King's contributions to our Great Society and American freedom for all! We SHALL ovecome...someday, but only if we work at it together.

Unless I'm suffering from hopeless political optimism, the next president will be a Democrat. (I have $100 bet on this with a Republican happy hour patron at my local drinking parlor.) What will be the outcome of the Feb. 5 caucus here?
