The attendence at our meet ups has not been sufficient to continue meeting at this time. I have scheduled the next meet up for this coming April which will be after the Texas Primary and when we should know who our Presidential Nominee will be, unless of course if we still have a horse race. Now wouldn't that be fun?

In the meantime there is a great deal to do:

1. Does your precinct have a precinct chair? That is the single most important Democratic Party elected official. It is the person in the neighborhood who gets their Democratic neighbors to the polls.

Call me at the Democratic Party Office (Madeleine: 785-0962) to talk about this. Applications are being filed between 10/3/07 and 6:00PM 1/2/08. I can send you a packet with all the information and an application.

2. Have you ever attended your precinct convention? How about your senatorial convention or the Texas State Democratic Convention? If you want to go to the state convention (and believe me you do), the first step is you MUST vote in the Democratic Primary and its important to attend your precinct convention at 7:15PM on Primary night at your local polling place.

Check the Bexar County Democratic Party website for more information around late January or early February and/or stop by the office at 3010 N St. Mary's M-F 10:00am to 6:00PM.

3. Help out your local Democratic Party by contributing your money and/or your time. We are getting busier and busier as the Primary season is upon us. We need people to help in the office or for those who work during the day, there are a number of committees which meet in the evenings that need members. Check the website or call Madeleine at the office about these opportuhjities.
