Estimated attendance:  25  people attended.

Liz Wally is well known in Democratic circles in Dallas. She is one of the women that fit into the category of, ?If you want to get something done, ask a busy woman.? Busy she is and getting things done is what she does.

Professionally she is a conflict resolutions/mediation trainer, but in her spare time she is a precinct chair, a member of the LWV where she has lead innumerable voter registration drives (they call her their ?Registrar Extraordinaire?), trainer for the DCDP and local DFA in precinct organization, and most recently, the Dallas coordinator for the movement for Clean Elections. She hosts regular MeetUps to bring new people into this movement and helped organize last November?s seminar at SMU entitled ?Rebuilding Democracy in America: Bi-Partisan Support for Campaign Finance Reform?.

In an election year where the primaries are not yet over, record amounts of money are being raised by all candidates in their bids for the White House. On the State level, winning a seat in Congress requires millions. Even local races require hundreds of thousands of dollars. Even with some minor efforts in election reform, special interests still get to buy access to our leaders. If you want to see this stop, then you need to attend our May 22nd meeting and find out what YOU can do!!!

This will be my first meeting and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. The film sounds awesome! My son and I just saw "Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden" at the Angelika. I will ask him if he would like to come too. Enjoy your days! :) Renee
