Dear Meetup Members,

We had a terrific meeting at the Obama for President Headquarters! Field Coordinator, Yusufi Vali, met with us and gave us all the news about how Campaign is handling this last leg of the election. He also gave specifics on how our Meetup can work with the Minnesota Campaign HQ to get our candidate elected.

In particular, Yusufi asked that our Meetup help them by creating a weekly phone-bank at the Obama for President HQ in Minneapolis!

Given that their phone-bank is adequately manned during most of the week, Yusufi asked if our Meetup could commit to holding a weekly phone bank on either Tuesdays or Fridays. He said that they especially need help on Fridays, so I agreed to send out the call! I'm asking our Meetup Members to


Commit to putting Democrat Barack Obama in the White House by actively phone-banking at the Obama for President HQ in Minneapolis every Friday from now until November !! Let's really come out and make this campaign a success!!

If you've not been to a Meetup event for awhile, here's your chance to really make a difference! Even if you don't like talking on the phone, there are lot's of other jobs you can help with - such as data entry - that will really help the effort!!! Please pass this message on to all of your friends and family!!

As you know, McCain has gotten a publicity bumps since the Republican Convention and the nomination of Sarah Palin as his running mate. We need to counter this trend now by getting in there and actively helping win this campaign! They have asked us to do this by securing the phone bank's success.

Please come one and come all!! (If you like, we can make this a pot luck party, as well!) We're in the final stretch and what we do now will make all the difference!

Dear Fawn & the Obama-Biden Horde...

This sounds great, but time is a problem. I have a class every Tuesday evening (6:15-8 pm) at the U (as well as Monday and Thursday evenings until 9 pm). I volunteer at a number of music and performing arts venues every weekend, so I'm booked every Friday evening from now until the election. (I'm also selling tickets at the Obama-Biden fundraiser at The Cedar on September 20; I hope to see you there.) If HQ can use some help on Friday afternoons, I'll be there. I'd love to nosh with other meetup folks as they check in before I hustle off to my next gig (or labor alongside other afternoon volunteers). Let's set a time and date.

Together we can defeat the McPain Twins and carry Obama-Biden to victory!
